Lena Hoffman joined FowlerHoffman in 2003 as an outreach assistant for the Afterschool Alliance, a broad coalition of public, private and nonprofit organizations dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to quality, affordable afterschool programs by 2010. Her work for the Alliance included communications and outreach to afterschool practitioners and advocates nationwide. Currently, Ms. Hoffman continues her work for the Alliance, tracking issues and trends in childhood obesity as they relate to afterschool. Her research and analysis has contributed to the creation of a draft afterschool obesity prevention agenda.

Prior to joining Fowler Hoffman, she worked as a Human Resource Generalist for a large mental-health services provider and as an interviewer for Q&A Market Research. Ms. Hoffman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Mills College in Oakland, California and completed her Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential requirements at Dominican University of California in San Rafael, California. In the course of the credential program, she student-taught in both a Kindergarten classroom and in a third-grade classroom of English-Language Learners.
